Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the healing process?
The healing process typically lasts 4-6 weeks. Initially, your brows will appear darker and more defined, with some swelling and redness. Around days 7-14, expect peeling and flaking, which can make the brows look patchy. By weeks 3-4, the true color of the pigment starts to resurface and stabilize. It's advised not to get PMU brows done before a big life event, as the healing process involves noticeable changes in appearance and requires proper aftercare.
While individual pain sensitivity varies, most people experience mild to moderate discomfort during permanent makeup procedures. Numbing agents are applied beforehand to alleviate any potential pain, and periodic breaks are allowed. Clients are welcome to bring headphones to enhance their comfort during the process.
Duration of appointments can vary based on several factors, including the complexity of the procedure, the client's desired outcome, and the practitioner's efficiency. On average, a PMU brow appointment may take around 4-5 hours. This timeframe includes consultation, mapping, the actual application of the pigment, and any necessary finishing touches. It's important to note that more intricate procedures or those requiring corrections may extend the appointment duration. Less complex sessions, like follow-ups, may have a shorter duration, typically around 2-3 hours. Please plan accordingly.
PMU eyebrows typically last 1-3 years, contingent on factors like skin type and lifestyle. Fading is gradual, influenced by sun exposure and skin exfoliation. Touch-ups are necessary to maintain color and shape, and adherence to aftercare instructions is crucial for longevity.
Individuals with specific skin conditions or allergies should consult with their healthcare provider before getting PMU brows. A patch test may be recommended to ensure there are no adverse reactions to the pigments or numbing agents used.
Touch ups are necessary to address fading and patchiness that occurs during the healing process and over time due to factors such as sun exposure and skin type. They help maintain the desired shape, color, and consistency of the brows, ensuring they continue to look fresh and well-defined. The frequency varies by individual, but clients often schedule touch-ups every 6 to 18 months.
Follow ups are free of charge and for FIRST time clients only. This must be booked no more than 60 days after the initial appointment; otherwise, it will become a normal touch up. To schedule this, please contact Cindy directly.
Touch ups on the other hand are for clients who have already had their complementary follow ups or wish to book greater than 60 days after the initial appointment.
Yes, if desired, we can work to make slight adjustments to the shape of your brows during future touch-up sessions. However, it's essential to communicate your preferences during the initial procedure as drastic changes cannot always be accommodated.

• No laser treatments or chemical peels
• Avoid over exposure to sun as sunburns hinder pigment retention
• Avoid AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) such as lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoid and tartaric acids or over-the-counter products for tone correcting anti-aging as this can cause premature fading
• No Botox 2 weeks before or after the procedure. But if botox is to be done, before is preferable
• Avoid eyebrow tinting to ensure accurate pigment selection

• Reschedule if you feel sick or have cold/flu symptoms or a sinus/respiratory infection

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol
• Do not take Aspirin or any blood thinners to prevent excessive bleeding and uneven healed results
• Wear glasses instead of contact lenses to avoid discomfort during your appointment
• Avoid strenuous exercise as this increases blood flow
• Avoid thermogenic and stimulant products that elevate blood pressure and blood flow
• Be aware you may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle
• Come with your brows styled as you usually wear them so we can understand your preferences
• Gently blot the area with a clean tissue (provided) to absorb lymph fluid, which may build up slightly on the brow area.
• Lymph fluid may or may not be present. Ensure you remove it to prevent it from forming a thick, dry crust. If not removed, the crust can take the pigment with it when it falls off, resulting in poor retention and results. Even if there is no lymph fluid, it's essential to blot the area.
• Repeat this every 5 minutes for the first hour, and then every 15 minutes for 6 hours or until the lymph fluid stops.
• Wash your face AM/PM with a gentle foaming cleanser (provided). Do not wash your face in the shower as you do not want your brows to get soggy.
• Wash gently, following your natural hair growth. Rinse well with warm (not hot) water.
• Pat dry with a clean paper towel/tissue and let brows air dry completely.
• Apply a tiny amount of healing appointment (provided) with a clean Q-tip. Do not apply too much ointment as this will suffocate the brows.
• When showering, apply a face shield (provided) as brows should not get soggy. Do not let the water run directly on your face if not using a faceshield.
