BEFORE/AFTER CARE

Our mission

At Browfully Permanent Makeup, my mission is to help women feel radiant and confident by enhancing their natural beauty through personalized, high-quality permanent makeup. Each treatment is an opportunity to empower clients to embrace their individuality while simplifying their beauty routine. I pour my heart into every detail, creating brows that not only look beautiful but also reflect the unique personality and style of each person I serve.

What to Expect During Healing

Day 1-2: Immediate Post-Procedure

• Expect initial redness and mild swelling around the treated area. Pigment will appear dark and bold as pigment is still sitting on the top layer of skin.

• The treated area will naturally release lymph fluid as a part of your body's inherent response to initiate the healing process.

• "Brow shock" is the immediate reaction to the newly transformed appearance of microbladed or shaded eyebrows. Adjusting to this significant change on your face takes time, so practice patience as you acclimate to the new look and allow familiarity and appreciation to develop.

Day 3-4: Transition Phase

• Color Shift: The initial dark color begins to soften, and the true pigment starts to emerge. The transition from the initial intense shade to a more natural look begins.

• Scabbing: Scabs may form as part of the healing process. It's crucial to resist any temptation to pick at these scabs, allowing them to naturally fall off.

• Itching may occur during the scabbing phase. Clients can apply a clean ice pack to the brows for relief.

Day 5-7: Settling In

• Color Evolution: Pigment continues to evolve, and the eyebrows may lighten further. Color might appear uneven or slightly patchy. This is part of the normal healing process.

• Itching and Flaking: Itching and flaking may occur as the skin regenerates. Avoiding scratching and picking is important to prevent disruption of the pigment and the healing skin. Disturbing or peeling scabs may inadvertently pull pigment from the treated area.

Day 8-10: Final Stages

• Color Stabilization: The pigment reaches its final, stabilized shade, closely resembling the intended result. The color becomes more uniform and settles into the skin.

• Scabs Resolve: Any remaining scabs should naturally fall off, unveiling the healed, revitalized eyebrows. This stage marks the end of the scabbing phase.

• Full Healing: By this time, the skin is typically fully healed, and the true result of the procedure becomes apparent. Some clients may still observe subtle changes as the pigment fully integrates with the skin. The total healing process takes 4-6 weeks.

Before Care

Before care is crucial in permanent makeup to ensure optimal results and minimize potential complications. It involves preparing the skin, following specific guidelines to enhance pigment retention and promote proper healing. Proper before care sets the foundation for a successful procedure, helping clients achieve the desired outcome while reducing the risk of adverse reactions.

4 Weeks Before Procedure

• Avoid acne creams as they thin and over-sensitize the skin

• Stop antibiotics as it may slow down healing

• No laser treatments or chemical peels

• Avoid over exposure to sun as sunburns hinder pigment retention

•  Avoid AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) such as lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoid and tartaric acids or over-the-counter products for tone correcting anti-aging as this can cause premature fading

2 Weeks to 48 Hours Before Procedure

• No Botox 2 weeks before or after the procedure. But if botox is to be done, before is preferable

• Avoid eyebrow tinting to ensure accurate pigment selection

• Reschedule if you have skin irritation or large blemishes on your brows

• Reschedule if you feel sick or have cold/flu symptoms or a sinus/respiratory infection

• Do not wax, tweeze, or thread your eyebrows— this will be done during your appointment

• Avoid alcohol for 48 hours before the procedure, as it thins the blood and hinders healed results

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol

• Do not take Aspirin or any blood thinners to prevent excessive bleeding and uneven healed results

• Wear glasses instead of contact lenses to avoid discomfort during your appointment

• Avoid strenuous exercise as this increases blood flow

• Avoid thermogenic and stimulant products that elevate blood pressure and blood flow

• Be aware you may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle

• Come with your brows styled as you usually wear them so we can understand your preferences

24 Hours Before Procedure

• Avoid caffeine and alcohol

• Do not take Aspirin or any blood thinners to prevent excessive bleeding and uneven healed results

• Wear glasses instead of contact lenses to avoid discomfort during your appointment

• Avoid strenuous exercise as this increases blood flow

• Avoid thermogenic and stimulant products that elevate blood pressure and blood flow

• Be aware you may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle

• Come with your brows styled as you usually wear them so we can understand your preferences

• Wear something preferably neutral in color for photos

Aftercare

Aftercare for permanent makeup is crucial to ensure proper healing and minimize the risk of infections. Following aftercare instructions helps maintain the longevity and vibrancy of the pigment, ensuring the desired results last longer. Neglecting aftercare may lead to complications such as uneven fading, scarring, or color changes, compromising the overall outcome of procedure.

Day 1

• Gently blot the area with a clean tissue (provided) to absorb lymph fluid, which may build up slightly on the brow area.

• Lymph fluid may or may not be present. Ensure you remove it to prevent it from forming a thick, dry crust. If not removed, the crust can take the pigment with it when it falls off, resulting in poor retention and results. Even if there is no lymph fluid, it's essential to blot the area.

• Repeat this every 5 minutes for the first hour, and then every 15 minutes for 6 hours or until the lymph fluid stops.

Days 1-10

• Wash your face AM/PM with a gentle foaming cleanser (provided). Do not wash your face in the shower as you do not want your brows to get soggy.

• Wash gently, following your natural hair growth. Rinse well with warm (not hot) water.

• Pat dry with a clean paper towel/tissue and let brows air dry completely.

• Apply a tiny amount of healing appointment (provided) with a clean Q-tip. Do not apply too much ointment as this will suffocate the brows.

• When showering, apply a face shield (provided) as brows should not get soggy. Do not let the water run directly on your face if not using a faceshield.

About the owner

Hi beautiful! My name is Cindy and I’m the artist behind Browfully Pemanent Makeup. I was born and raised in Quincy, MA. Growing up, I always had an eye for all things beauty. After getting my own brows done in 2021, I realized something— I became fascinated with PMU.

I took my first steps into the world of PMU by attending an intensive 100-hour American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) certified course. It was during this course I worked with my amazing mentor who further fueled my passion. Since then, I have continued to strive and improve my technique, meet new and amazing people, all to build my dream life, one step at a time.

Ever since I laid my hands on a tattoo machine, my heart has been captivated by the transformative power it holds. I'm not just in the business of enhancing features; I'm in the business of boosting confidence and empowering woman to embrace their unique beauty. The artistry involved in crafting beautiful brows is my creative playground as I pour my heart into every stroke, ensuring that each client walks away not just satisfied, but radiantly confident.

When I'm not in the studio giving your brows the VIP treatment, you can find me eating out with friends, working out, and obsessing over cats. And when time permits, I love making sweet treats to share!
