What is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup (PMU), also called micropigmentation, is a cosmetic procedure involving the application of tattoo-like pigments to enhance facial features. Using a handheld device with a fine needle, a trained technician deposits these pigments into the skin's dermal layer, replicating the appearance of traditional makeup such as eyeliner, eyebrows, and lip color. The procedure begins with a consultation to understand the client's preferences, and local anesthetic is applied to numb the targeted area during the procedure.

This cosmetic solution appeals to those with busy lifestyles, physical limitations, or allergies to conventional makeup. It's also beneficial for individuals with sparse eyebrows or difficulties in daily makeup application due to vision impairments. PMU provides a time-saving and long-term solution, allowing individuals to maintain a polished appearance effortlessly.

  • All appointments will begin with a consultation but clients may opt to schedule a separate consultation to meet the artist and gain a thorough understanding of what to expect during the procedure. A quick brow map can also be done to help clients visualize the potential appearance of their PMU brows (30 min)

  • A technique that creates a soft, powdered makeup look. Using a tattoo machine, pigment is gradually layered, resulting in well-defined and evenly shaded eyebrows. This method gives a more filled-in appearance, resembling the effect of powder makeup ( 4 hours)

  • A technique that combines hairstrokes and shading. Using a tattoo machine, this method involves creating natural-looking hair strokes in the front portion (head) of the eyebrows and adding a powdered or shaded effect towards the tails. The result is a balanced and textured brow that mimics the appearance of both microbladed and softly filled brows (4 hours)

  • Uncertain about which technique to choose? Clients have the option to schedule an initial procedure, allowing for a comprehensive discussion during your in-person consultation to determine the most suitable technique for your unique needs (4 hours)

  • Visit that involves color adjustments, refining shape and details, addressing pigment loss, and incorporating client feedback to ensure optimal and satisfactory results. Touch ups should be done every 1-3 years (4 hours)
